Global Citizenship Education (GCE) is a key focus area for Irish Aid-funded NGOs working within the primary education sector. However, outreach efforts can sometimes appear fragmented or duplicative. To foster greater coherence, coordination, and collaboration, Global Village is convening a 1-hour Knowledge Share webinar to support the collective planning of a 'GCE Outreach Directory for Primary Schools in Ireland'.
This session will bring together GCE Officers from Irish Aid-funded NGOs and grant partners to map and align current and planned outreach activities. The ultimate goal is to develop a user-friendly, nationwide directory that offers schools a clear, accessible overview of available GCE supports and programmes.
Objectives:
- To map logistics, themes, and coverage areas of GCE outreach across the sector.
- To create an annual touchpoint and nurture a community of practice among GCE Officers.
- To reflect on pedagogical approaches, particularly the balance between soft and critical GCE, and to exchange tips for integrating more critical elements.
- To connect this work to the IDEA Code of Conduct, supporting mutual accountability and collaboration among code members.
